What is Judgment Enforcement?
After a judgment creditor obtains a judgement, a court order that is the decision in a lawsuit, where the court may award you a money judgement or order. If the judgment debtor fails to pay the amount ordered by the court, the judgment creditor will have to apply Enforcement of Judgment Law to enforce the judgment.
What Does it Mean to Enforce a Judgment?
After a judgment creditor obtains a judgment, judgment collection is the responsibility of the creditor. Therefore, the judgment creditor has to look for ways to collect the debt themselves. All enforcement techniques involve locating assets of the debtor, attaching the judgment as a lien on those assets, and then liquidating or selling those assets for cash to satisfy the judgment.
Enforcing Child Custody & Parenting Plans
Parenting plans and custody arrangements are enforceable by the courts. If there are violations, we can file a motion for contempt or enforcement with the court. Oregon law provides for rapid relief for violations of parenting time. It is particularly important you work with an attorney for this process. The lawyers at our firm can take swift action in investigating the situation and make certain that your children's best interests are kept in the foreground. Doing things the right way will pay off in the long run for you and your children in this situation.
